Winds Sweep team, the students efficient car creations Ten November Institute of technology (ITS) Surabaya managed to retain the title contest efficient car first annual Shell Eco Marathon (SEM) Asia 2012 in Sepang, Malaysia, which lasts 4 to 7 July 2012. Winds Sweep the car won the first 7 UrbanConcept Biodiesel with the achievements of 167 kilometers per liter.

In the annual championship, ITS sent three teams to the ITS Team 1 car Winds Sweep 6, ITS Winds Sweep Team 2 with 7, and SEM ITS Team Antasena 2012 with a new car. There are 15 students who participated in it, the team supervisor, Bambang Sampurno.
ITS is the third team, this year’s competition with 136 teams from 18 countries of Asia. There are five new countries that also competed in the SEM Asia 2012, namely Lebanon, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and South Korea. The number of vehicles consists of 91 racing prototypes, and 45 UrbanConcept.
According Triyogi, keberhasilam ITS Winds Sweep Team suggests that the transfer of knowledge has gone well, considering that each year that lecturers and students set out to play is always different. “This is the fruit of the academic climate that nurtured very well in the ITS. It is very proud of as a capital for both the ITS to become world class universtiy,” he said.
Winds Sweep 7 is a future car diesel or biodiesel. This car is the development of wind Sweep 5. In many trials, this car has been able to travel a distance of 300 km per one liter of diesel. Machinery for wind broom taken from pam jet engine.

This car is a new innovation Metallurgical Materials Engineering student, which is designed to be environmentally friendly cars. “This is the first time that hydrogen cars work,” said Ahmad Fahrudin, ITS student of Antasena team.
