Early Detection Tool whirlwind of Used Beverage Packaging Bottle

Student group in elementary science ekstrakurikluer Muhammadiyah Gresik New City, Kebomas, Gresik regency, East Java, making early detection means a tornado, under the direction of science teacher mentors M Zaini.

The tool is expected to be utilized so that people know a tornado earlier and reduce the risk of loss, particularly loss of life.

Tornado disaster is inevitable, but by means of early detection can be attempted rescue of the family. The materials used grate the pole, the propeller of the former mineral water bottles, 9 volt battery, alarm, tool hooks, wires, knobs, and tin cans.

As the wind simulation used a fan, according to the wind speed corresponding button 1, 2, 3. The bigger and faster the faster the wind.

Sabrina a class V student, explained, describing the fan off when the wind is not blowing, the propeller does not rotate, the pendulum does not touch anything. Electric current is not connected, the lights and siren off.

Normal when the wind blows, the propeller rotates slowly, the pendulum touches the bottom plate, allowing an electric current is connected and the yellow lights on, sirens are not sounded. When the wind was blowing hard, spinning propellers. Pendulum is raised to touch the plate. “The currents are connected to the red light and siren sounds,” says Sabrina.

Patrons at SD Muhammadiyah GKB Kebomas Gresik, Ichwan Arief, said, in addition tornado detection tool there are several other detection devices that the students make the tsunami detection devices, and seismic detection devices. All using simple tools, including tin cans.

In essence, created as a learning tool, but it can be applied in their respective homes. If there is early detection tools can reduce the impact of greater losses, especially loss of life. “These tools will be included in our race to the national science festival,” said Arief who also served as principal.
